Our “wayback machine” takes us once more to ancient Egypt and another of the oldest board games known to modern archeology. Senet is a great little race game, with set-backs and strategic mechanisms well known to modern players.
Senet pits two players against each other on a race to the afterlife, each with five souls in their care, and each subject to the whims of fate represented by four stick dice.
The game includes more familiar features, reminding the players of Backgammon, Pachisi, Steeplechase and many others. A great family game for home or on the road, quick enough to be a filler and adaptable to tournament play.
