Hounds & Jackals - The favorite board game of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs!
Share
The historic game of Hounds and Jackals - also known by several other names - was rediscovered by British archeologists in the late 19th century. The game is at least 3500 years old, and several variants have been found over the past century.
Unfortunately, the original rules to the game are unknown, but game historians have devised several possible ways to play the game. I present two of those in this video.
In either case, it's a race game, and the first set of rules also includes elimination of the opponent's pieces. The NewVenture set includes stick dice and enough pegs to play these and some other variants. You can discover them easily with a little research.
