The Serpent Game, also called Fighting Serpents, is a traditional game of the Zuni and other tribes in the southwest USA. This game was recorded by the invading Spanish explorers in the 1600s. It's akin to Alquerques, which leads some to speculate that it was developed from games the Spanish brought with them. A great little jump and capture game, it's larger cousins can have as much as 24 pegs per player! These larger versions are called "awithlaknannai" which means "stone that kills."
