The game was supposedly developed independently by the famous Danish polymath Piet Hein, and the American mathematician John Forbes Nash several years later. In the late 1950s, the game began to find an audience among fans of abstract games. Hex is a game for 2 players with the seemingly simple goal of placing pieces to connect two opposite edges of the board in a continuous line. This proves to be extremely challenging!
