Megiddo is a unique and challenging abstract strategy game. It won the “Best Game” awards from the British Toy and Hobby Fair, the New York International Toy Fair, the Paris Exposition in France, and was included in the Games Magazine Top 100 Games — all in its first year! A detailed strategy guide was written by two world-champion chess players, one of which became the first world champion Megiddo player. The game was included in the international Mind Sports Olympiad, and the game still is played fervently by fans in Europe.
With exception of a short run in 2011, Megiddo has been out of print since 1986 — until now! NewVenture Games is very honored to have licensed the game from its inventor, Steve Baldwin.
We offer two versions of Megiddo, a boxed edition with a full-sized flexible board as well as a boxed Travel Edition using cribbage pegs a pegboard for playing on-the-go. Both versions feature an updated and enhanced 20-page rule book.
In addition, a new Strategy Guide available here with over 100 pages of information, strategic insights, and examples of tactics. The name of the book is “How to Play Better Megiddo,” which is what it'll help you do.
Megiddo is worth it. This classic has been praised by chess masters as a deep and strategic gem of a game. Mathematicians have confirmed its indisputable replayability. Players agree that Megiddo is most assuredly “a classic.”
