Man in the Moon

Man in the Moon is an interesting game from around the year 1900. It was published by the McLoughlin Brothers company as a new game, but it's really an adaptation of a couple of very ancient African board games. As with so many 2-player strategy games, Man in the Moon begins with a placement phase followed by a movement phase. The capturing method is what's called a "custodial" or "flanking" capture in which a piece is surrounded on two side to capture it. The adaptation works very well and is fun for gamers of all ages.
