Our travel-size version (board is 4 inches square) of The Royal Game of Ur, sometimes called the "grandfather of backgammon" or the oldest game in history, perhaps dating back over 5,000 years. Neither are probably not true, but it is a very ancient game.
Two players use stick dice (or coins) to determine the movement of their pieces around a path on the board. Ending a turn on an opposing piece sends them back to start, and there are safe spaces and extra-turn spaces, depending on which interpretation of the rules you wish to follow. Made in the USA for 2 players age 8+.
